If you create woodlands that follow the Woodland Carbon Code, you can earn money by selling carbon credits.

However, there are some costs involved in the process. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Registration - Free
  • Validation - Costs apply (paid to the validation/verification body)
  • Issuing Pending Issuance Units - Costs per unit (paid to the registry provider at validation)
  • Verification - Costs apply (paid to the validation/verification body)
  • Converting Pending Issuance Units to Woodland Carbon Units - Costs per unit (paid to the registry provider at verification)

The money you earn from selling carbon credits should be enough to cover these costs.

For more details on costs at each stage, check the relevant pages in this section.
